Power Plant: Winter Morning

This is the giant power plant in North Denver, just below I270 and a mile or so east of I25. I've often driven past it and been fascinated by the towers and the swirling smoke and steam. Because it is so" industrial" and smelly and dirty we often look at something like this and go "Eeew, Ugly". Actually I think in this light and from this angle it is quite beautiful. I love how the many wires swoop across the image. The ugliness is just in our minds, in our reaction (emotional, political, environmental) to this giant power plant.

Accepted into Greeley Art Association National Juried Show, June 2012
