Across The Alley

This is yet another painting based on a series of photos I took one sunny morning in July. This particular spot is in the alley bounded by Walnut, Canyon, 9th and 10th.

I fould this image interesting partly because of the reflection and partly because the composition looks like some sort of 1960's Op Art color area painting, with blocky areas of color side by side. The difference is of course that these areas of color are not abstract, they have texture and they have light falling on them, creating shadow and depth.
