Before I took the photo that this painting is based on I had been looking at this shed for several months. I finally caught it just right, in early afternoon light where the shadow of the the tree predominates. This piece is a shift for me, away from the purely architectural pieces of the last year or so into something a little more moody. It still has a building, but now the building is less important, and the surroundings like the shadow and the pile of blocks take on more importance.
