As I was working on the paintings in the Leapers show I started to think about dancers, especially when I looked at the high jumper paintings, which struck me as sort of dance like. This led me to seeking out a dance troupe that would allow me to photograph them as they rehearsed as the first step in creating a series of paintings. Fortunately, through a friend of a friend, I connected with Boulder Ballet. These paintings are the result of that collaboration.
