| I felt I needed a break/shift from trees and temples.
I've also become interested in all the rock formations near Boulder,
where I live. This painting is the result. I started by drawing a
grid of squares in 2 point perspective, then projected those squares
upwards to form a lattice of ever larger/longer boxes. Then, applying
light from the right side, I painted the "rock walls" of
the painting, using only red ochre and grays. |
