After The Fire

This painting happened by accident. I was actually heading for the location of the previous painting when I happened upon this scene. There had just been a fire in a place called The Oak, at 14th and Pearl. The fire was over and the firemen were standing around just chatting, or so it seemed.

I loved the composition, with the interesting building in the background, the fire truck, and the three firemen with their names on their backs. Nothing special, just a random moment that caught my eye.

I want to thank Jeremy Felix of Boulder Fire-Rescue for the help he gave me with some details of the truck.

Best in Show award, Boulder Art Association Annual Regional Juried Show, 2011.
